Dehner Franks Sr. is an accomplished songwriter, musician, vocalist, music director, and teacher. Franks attended Portland Sate University for one year, and eventually moved to Seattle where he graduated from Shoreline Community College with an Associates of Arts degree. He completed his education at the University of Washington earning both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. Since then, Dehner has performed as a professional pianist both nationally and internationally. In 1998, Dehner was commissioned by the Nordstrom Corporation to record, produce, and arrange music for their holiday CD, "Holiday Lights". As work continued with Nordstrom's, he was called to perform an exclusive performance on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. One of the highlights of his career included performing as solo pianist at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, where he was heard wordwide through multiple Russian television networks. In addition, he has been a featured guest artist with the Volunteers of America national convention where his original song, "With these Hands" premiered. Since then, he has worked with the VOA Organization on several inspirational performances. In December 2010, Dehner was honered by the VOA for his work with the organization. He had written both music and lyrics to over 60 original songs and served as music director for Everett, Washington's annual show, "A Christmas Spectacular." From Ghana to Hollywood, Franks has made his musical mark all over the world and his incredible works are loved and admired by many.
